Transection limit of bkash, Rocket and other mobile banking services increased

The central bank Bangladesh Bank has increased transection limit of all mobile financial services, commonly known as mobile banking services. Many people of the country don’t have access to traditional banking service. So mobile banking services like bKash, Rocket are Sure Cash are very useful for them. Many urban and rural people have been using these services to send money to their family members.
But there was allegation that some groups have been using these services for digital hundi. Government was losing remittance. So Bangladesh Bank imposed some restrictions on mobile banking services. On the other hand government has launched it’s own mobile banking service Nagad which has higher transection limit than private mobile banking services. They were losing subscribers and demanding to raise their transection limit also.
As per new instruction from central bank, upper limit of each cash-in will be 30,000 taka and upper limit of each cash-out will be 25,000 taka. Maximum five cash-in and cash-outs are allowed in a single day. Maximum 25 cash-ins are allowed in a month and maximum amount for a month is two lakh taka. Maximum 20 cash-outs or withdrawals are allowed in a month and maximum withdrawal limit for a month is 1.5 lakh taka. Person to person transection limit is also increased from 10,000 taka to 25,000 taka per day.
