The accused are: Ishtiaq Mehmood, Naeemul Hasan, Firoz Mehmood, Mir Amjad Hussain, Saju Islam, Rajibul Islam, Shahidul Alam Khan, Siam and Oli Ahmed. Among them, Ishtiaq Mahmood, brother-in-law of Badiul Alam Majumdar, secretary of Shushashonor Jonno Nagorik (Shujaan), is the plaintiff in the case.
Apart from this, Naimul Hasan alias Russell is the president of Mohammadpur police station unit Chhatra League. The remaining accused are workers of Awami League and Chhatra League.
The attack took place on August 4, 2018, when Marcia Burnicat was traveling in her car after attending a dinner at the residence of Badiul Alam Majumdar in the capital’s Mohammadpur area.
