President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that Turkey will hold elections on May 14, a month ahead of schedule, according to a video shared by his office on Sunday.
“This is not an early election, but bringing it forward,” Erdogan said in a video of his meeting with young people in Bursa this weekend that was shared by the president.
Erdogan said he would exercise his right to go to the polls on May 14 – an adjustment he said was made taking into account school exams.
