Turkmenistan sacks economy minister Prothom Hello

Turkmenistan’s president has sacked his economy minister and two deputy ministers covering the energy sector, according to a decree published Saturday in the Central Asian nation dependent on gas exports.

Head of State Serdar Berdymokhmedov signed the decree in a country that can boast the world’s fourth-largest natural gas reserves, according to British oil company BP.

Turkmenistan depends on exports to China and to a lesser extent Russia and Iran.
