Two foreign skiers missing after avalanche in Japan’s Nagano

The spokesman told Reuters that local police had resumed their search shortly after 7 a.m. on Monday for the two missing skiers, whose nationalities were still unknown. They were part of two separate groups skiing the 2,469 m (8,100 ft) mountain.

The area had experienced heavy snowfall over the past few days, and the Japan Meteorological Agency issued an avalanche warning at the time of the avalanche.
