Two senior officials of India and America reached Dhaka on Tuesday evening

Vinay Kwatra will reach Dhaka on Tuesday evening by a special aircraft of the Indian Air Force. On his two-day visit, he will hold a meeting with Foreign Secretary Masoud bin Momen tomorrow, Wednesday.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is hosting the G-20 summit in September, has extended an invitation to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to attend the event. Prime Minister Hasina will also participate in this programme.

During the Bangladesh-India foreign secretaries’ talks to be held in Dhaka on Wednesday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s proposed visit to New Delhi, among other issues of bilateral interest, will be discussed.

According to a foreign ministry official, several high-level meetings will take place between the two countries this year as a preparation for Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s visit to India. The two Foreign Secretaries are likely to discuss the details of these meetings on Wednesday as well.

During his stay in Dhaka, Vinay Kwatra is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Foreign Minister Abdul Momen.

Talking to the media in this regard, Foreign Secretary Masood Bin Momen said, this is Vinay Kwatra’s first visit to Dhaka as Foreign Secretary. He will lead the Indian side during the important Foreign Secretary level meeting. Various aspects of relations between the two countries will be discussed in the meeting. Several high-level meetings have taken place between the two countries in the last one year. The decisions taken in these meetings will be reviewed.
