dn-felaniFifteen years old Bangladeshi girl was killed after brutal torturing by the Indian border guard, BSF. The day after tomorrow, the 7th January will be her second death anniversary.

Felani was coming back to Bangladesh with her father after shopping for her marriage. She was caught by the Indian border guards at Phulbari border.

British colony India was divided in 1947. But the man drawn boundary couldn’t stop the communication between the people of both sides of the boundaries, which has a long history. Illegal border crossing is done from both sides of the border.

Situation in India – Bangladesh border is unique as civilians are regularly killed by the Indian border guards instead of trying them under the law.

Still the border guards involved in killing is untried and no compensation given by the Indians. Locals demanded that the road which passes by Felani’s home should be named after Felani; that is not done yet.
