The United Arab Emirates will break away from the OPEC and OPEC+ oil cartel to focus on “national interests”, it said in a statement on Tuesday, a bombshell announcement as energy prices have risen due to the Middle East war.
The United Arab Emirates, one of the world’s top oil producers, which has previously disrupted OPEC production quotas, will walk out on Friday, a statement carried by the official WAM news agency said.
