The group said bodies are often found with remnants of explosive weapons, and some are bludgeoned. It declined to say how many bodies it had found.
Black Tulip member Oleksiy Iukov, who was lost during a previous mission digging up the remains of a World War Two-era soldier, said his group was determined to return every fallen Ukrainian.
When he described the bodies being dug out, the artillery distanced away, a feeling he said he was not accustomed to.
Yukov said, “Whenever you dig up a man, you live through his nightmare and the horror he goes through in his last moment, when he realizes that this is the end, there is no way back.” ”
“Together with him, you go through all this again. It is very, very difficult.”
