UN reiterates support to Bangladesh on Independence Day

The United Nations on Sunday reiterated its support for Bangladesh’s commitments to economic and sustainable development on the occasion of the country’s 52nd World War II anniversary.Ra Independence Day, UNB reports.

“On behalf of the United Nations, I extend my heartiest congratulations to the people of Bangladesh on the 52Ra anniversary of independence,” said Gwynne Lewis, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Bangladesh, in a press statement on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day.

He said Bangladesh has many achievements: extraordinary economic growth, a very important cultural heritage, leadership on the global stage for climate vulnerable countries and enormous generosity in welcoming and hosting nearly a million Rohingyas.
