UNICEF Bangladesh celebrates International Girl Child Day

He said that investment in girl’s education is the best investment. There is no substitute for education to ensure a beautiful society, a country and a beautiful future world.

He said 1.6 billion girls worldwide have dropped out of school during the coronavirus outbreak.

Ramesh Singh, Country Director of CARE Bangladesh, Kavita Bose, Country Director of Plan International Bangladesh, Vibhabendra S Raghuvanshi of UNFPA Bangladesh, Betsy Zorio, Interim Country Director of Save the Children Bangladesh and Lata Mandal, member of Bangladesh national women’s cricket team, also spoke.

CARE Bangladesh Country Director Ramesh Singh said CARE Bangladesh is working to build a beautiful society and has many success stories. Even though education rates have increased, the prevalence of child marriage is not decreasing in Bangladesh. We have to work to end child marriage here. And by creating proper networking it will be possible to create a stronger voice.
