The Santos winger became the provider for Venezuela’s second, breaking down the left flank and cutting back for Rondon to slot home from close range on 72 minutes.

Soteldo was involved again for Venezuela’s third, once again finding space on the left wing and crossing an unmarked pass to make it 3–0.

Elsewhere on Tuesday, Paraguay picked up their first win of the qualifiers, beating Bolivia 1-0 in Asuncion thanks to a 69th-minute goal from Antonio Sanabria.

Bolivia are at the bottom of the table while Paraguay are seventh with three points from four matches.

Meanwhile, in Quito, Colombia maintained their unbeaten start in the qualifiers with a 0-0 draw with Ecuador.

Six teams from the 10-team round robin tournament will automatically qualify for the 2026 World Cup, which will feature 48 teams for the first time and is being co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
