US approves multi-day strikes against Iranian targets in Iraq and Syria: CBS News reports

The United States has approved plans for multi-day strikes in Iraq and Syria against multiple targets, including Iranian personnel and facilities, CBS News reported Thursday, citing American officials.

President Joe Biden said Tuesday he has made up his mind about how to respond to a drone strike in northeastern Jordan near the Syrian border this week that killed three US service members and wounded more than 40. US blames Iran-backed militants for drone attack.

Biden’s top diplomat, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, said on Monday that the US response “could be multi-tiered, come in phases, and be sustained over time.”
