Britain’s Defense Ministry said Royal Air Force Typhoon warplanes attacked targets including two ground control stations used to operate both attack and reconnaissance drones.
U.S. forces launched separate strikes earlier Saturday against six Houthi anti-ship missiles that were “ready to launch against ships in the Red Sea,” Central Command (CENTCOM) said.
The military command also said Saturday that US forces shot down eight drones in and near Yemen a day earlier and destroyed four others before they could be launched.
The Houthis began targeting Red Sea shipping in November, saying they were hitting ships linked to Israel in support of Palestinians in Gaza, which has been devastated by the Israel-Hamas war.
US and UK forces responded with attacks against the Houthis, who have since also declared US and British interests as legitimate targets.
Houthi spokesman Nasr al-Din Amer said after Saturday’s attacks that “Either there is peace for us, Palestine and Gaza, or there is no peace for you and no security in our territory.”
“We will fight stress with stress,” he wrote on social media.
