Also named was the Iranian company Emen Sanat Zaman Fara, which the Treasury said makes equipment for Iran’s law enforcement forces, including armored vehicles used in mob suppression.
Washington also imposed sanctions on two senior officers from Iran’s Basij Resistance Force, a militia affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards that was widely deployed during the operation, and two Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) officers.
“We condemn the Iranian regime’s intensified use of violence against its own people who are defending their human rights,” Brian Nelson, Treasury’s Under Secretary of State for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, said in the statement.
Iran’s mission to the United Nations in New York did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
