Many prominent actresses of Bangladeshi films are alleged of obscenity. But those actresses deny these allegations. In their words those were not themselves, those were dummies.
The families of those actresses are embarrassed and furious over the role of directors and producers. Mother of an actress said she had a dream that her daughter will be a successful actress of Bangladeshi film industry. Now she is totally frustrated and people know her daughter as an actress of vulgar character. She claims that her daughter never did this type of wrong thing. A director asked her daughter that she will need to wear a short dress for the sake of story. Later he used dummy and now people know that her daughter did this.
She also pointed out that we watch many Indian and western films where actresses wear short and semi transparent dress regularly. But when our local film actresses do this, we say it should not be done. She also talked about the recent Indian film ‘Dirty Picture’ where Biddya got National award; if it was Bangladesh perhaps this film would create a wave of criticism. She concludes our eye has changed to see new things but mind is not changed yet.
