Minister for Migrant Welfare and Overseas Employment and Labor and Employment Ariful Haq Choudhary on Thursday said he wants to work as a servant of the people.
“People have elected me with a huge vote margin and the Prime Minister has entrusted me with ministerial responsibilities. I will work wholeheartedly to retain their trust,” he said while speaking to locals and district administration officials at the MAG Osmani International Airport on Thursday afternoon.
After exchanging greetings with officials of various government departments and party leaders, he expressed his gratitude to the public and sought cooperation from all to perform their duties with honesty and dedication in future.
Expressing his gratitude towards the people of every level in his parliamentary constituency, he said that there is a large migrant population here and special emphasis has been given on this issue in the party’s election manifesto. Accordingly, short, medium and long term plans are being prepared and action as per these plans will start immediately.
Regarding the Sylhet-Manchester flight, the minister told reporters, “We will hold a meeting with all the ministers and Members of Parliament of Sylhet division to identify the long-standing issues of the district. After this, effective steps will be taken collectively to solve these problems.”
At the event, MP Imran Ahmed Chowdhury, Divisional Commissioner Khan Mohammad Raza-un-Nabi, Sylhet Metropolitan Police Commissioner Abdul Khuddas Chowdhury, District Commissioner Mohammad Sarwar Alam and leaders of BNP and its affiliated organizations from Sylhet district and city were present.
