Explaining to IPS, Maxwell Martin said that most of the world's trade takes place in this region, while economic development is also taking place keeping this region at the center. Therefore, emphasis is being laid on the interests of important regions of the world, free and open future, economy and prosperity.
Maxwell Martin described Bangladesh as important for South Asia from security point of view. Arguing in favor of his statement, he said, “I am saying this from a positive perspective. All countries in the region are capable of ensuring their own security and can responsibly ensure the security of others.
He further said, “Since independence, we have seen rapid growth in Bangladesh's capability and contribution to security in the region. Along with its ability to ensure its own security, Bangladesh has also moved forward in helping others. We are proud to be Bangladesh's partner.”
