HSC exam results every year bring both joy and sorrow for students and parents. The reason for happiness is the success of the students in the second public examination of their life which paves the way for higher education and good career. And the reason for sadness is that almost one-fourth of the total candidates fail to cross this hurdle.
According to the results of the exam, there were 11,12, 372 candidates who appeared for the 2023 HSC exam under nine general education boards. Of these, 8,44,269 passed. Pass rate is 75.90. Whereas 78 thousand 521 candidates got GPA-5. The pass rate in technical and madrassa education boards is 91.25 and 90.75 respectively.
Whether the passing rate is lower than last year or higher than pre-Corona, what is more worrying is the failure of a large number of students. This is the first full syllabus examination after the Corona epidemic. The exam was held in 2022 with half the marks. Whereas in the year 2021, examination was conducted on three optional subjects on the basis of department.
