A woman died on Wednesday, three days after she was taken into custody by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) from Nagaon town.
The victim is 45-year-old Sultana Jasmine. He died during treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital on Friday morning.
He was taken into custody at 10:30 am from Mukti Mor in the town
Sultana Jasmine was an office assistant in the land office of Chandipur Union of Naugaon Sadar Upazila.
RAB claimed that Sultana Jasmine was taken into custody for questioning on charges of cheating. After detention she fell ill and died.
However, family members alleged that Jessamyn died because she was tortured in AB’s custody.
