Police recovered the body of a 40-year-old worker from a plastic waste factory warehouse in Old Dhaka’s Kamalbagh area on Friday, suspecting the incident to be a murder.
The deceased was identified as Yunus Mia, a resident of Kashipur area in Barishal.
The body was recovered from the second floor of the factory in Chawkbazar around 1:30pm, said Kawsar, a sub-inspector of Chawkbazar Police Station.
Yunus lived in the warehouse with several other workers, the police official said.
Law enforcers rushed to the spot after receiving information from a local resident around noon. Upon arrival, they found the warehouse door open and Yunus lying dead inside, the SI added.
Mahfuzar Rahaman, assistant commissioner of the Chawkbazar zone, told The Daily Star that injury marks were found on Yunus Mia’s head. Primarily, it appears to be a murder involving multiple people.
The body was sent to the Sir Salimullah Medical College (Mitford) morgue for an autopsy.
