Under the Feed the Future Bangladesh Aquaculture and Nutrition Project funded by USAID and coordinated by Worldfish, a workshop on “Worldfish Carp Genetic Improvement Programme” was recently held at the Bangabandhu International Convention Center in Dhaka, said a press release .
The workshop began with an opening speech by Christopher Price, Regional Director, Worldfish South Asia Region. Bangladesh Fisheries Department Director General KH Mahbubul Haque was present as the chief guest in the workshop.
The initiative attracted eminent personalities as well as private and public stakeholders related to carp production and research. KH Mahbubul Haque officially received the fast growing Worldfish Generation Three (G3) Rohu from the Department of Fisheries.
