Former BAIRA president and current MP Benazir Ahmad said they did not go to Malaysia to influence the agency selection process. In the previous phase, Malaysian officials selected the recruitment agencies, with agencies owned by three MPs being eliminated.
“This time too they have selected the agencies. We did not go there for lobbying… We don't know if anyone did it or not. If anybody, whoever it may be, is found involved in corruption and irregularities, legal action will be taken against him,” he said.
Nizam Uddin Hazari, an MP and owner of a recruitment agency, denied the existence of any syndicate in the recruitment of workers. “There is no such thing as a syndicate. The Malaysian government selected the agencies and we, by the grace of Allah, were selected by chance.”
