He said that the whole world has plunged into economic recession due to Corona virus and Ukraine-Russia war.
“But by the grace of God, we have been able to keep the wheels of the economy moving in the country so far,” he added.
He briefly described the various developmental activities of the government to ensure the overall progress of the country as well as the social safety net programmes.
The Prime Minister said that due to the war, the government has to buy various commodities such as edible oil, fuel, sugar, pulses, wheat and maize at higher prices to make them available to the poor, low-income people at reasonable prices.
He also mentioned that the government is providing various essential food items completely free of cost to the people across the country.
“We are spending huge amounts of money in this regard to reduce the burden of common people, irrespective of the price of those items in the world market,” he added.
