Another elevated expressway from airport to Savar

On the basis of PPP (Public Private Partnership), another elevated expressway is going to be built from airport to national memorial in Savar. This will be of 34 kilometer long.

The DAEEP ( Dhaka Ashulia Elevated Expressway Project) was approved yesterday in a meeting of  the cabinet committee on economic affairs at the secretariat in the capital chaired by the finance minister AMA Muhith.

BUET conducted the initial study of the project.

This will be an extension of the 26-kilometre Dhaka elevated expressway that connects the airport and Dhaka-Chittagong highway.

This will facilitate quick vehicular movement to and from Dhaka.

The approximate cost of the construction of the bridge is $ 2 billion.

This will also help the transit vehicles to India, Nepal and Bhutan.

There will be several gateways and intersections at different points in the proposed expressway.
