He left Dhaka at 10 pm. There were traffic jams at many places along the way and it took him nine and a half hours to reach Elenga, while the journey usually takes two and a half to three hours.
According to sources at Bangabandhu Bridge, around 18,000 to 20,000 vehicles pass through the bridge daily during normal times. However, the traffic pressure has increased manifold due to the Eid rush. A total of 51,951 vehicles passed through the bridge in 24 hours from 12:00 midnight on Friday, generating toll revenue of Tk 36.53 million.
