Bangladesh’s Test record is disappointing but the way they are progressing, it is believed that they will fix it soon. So far, the Tigers have played 139 Test matches with 19 wins, 102 losses and 18 draws.
Against the Black Caps, they played 18 matches and won just 2, lost 13 and drew 3. Barring West Indies and Zimbabwe, New Zealand is the only team against whom Bangladesh has now achieved more than one Test win.
While Bangladesh looked to seal a spectacular series win, New Zealand, who are on the back foot, vowed to fight back.
“Again, we are obviously expecting spin-friendly conditions, but we talked about being more consistent over the long run as a bowling group after the last game. And then, obviously, the partnership as a batting unit. We have had a very good few days of training. So, he is looking forward to playing another Test match,” said New Zealand captain Tim Southee.
