Haque Hawlader of 65 was a day labor worked at the capital Dhaka. He was going to his home district Borguna with his wife, son and brother yesterday.
He had only one thousand and one hundred taka but launch fair was one thousand and two hundred taka. The staffs of the launch MV Moshiron was very angry in listening this and they seriously beat them. The old Haque Hawlader died on the spot and his son is admitted to Bumna Upazila health complex.
Rapid Action Battalion 8 has arrested three staffs of the launch, though they have denied beating the deceased Haque Hawlader.
Local thana OC (officer in charge) has said case will be filed after having a clear picture from the deceased’s family.
Launch journey in one of the cheapest journey here in Bangladesh. Safety records were not always good, but poor people likes to travel by launch because they can’t afford bus.
