The BNP leader said the event would be celebrated with a single-point demand, restoration of democracy, ensuring justice for murdered comrades and treatment of injured leaders and workers.
This is the seventh round of blockade implemented by the opposition party.
The BNP called a strike for the first time in several years on 29 October, following violence at the party’s grand rally in Dhaka on 28 October. The party has since been calling for a nationwide blockade of road, rail and waterways in various phases.
