Five BNP MLAs have gone to the Speaker’s office to resign as Members of Parliament.
He handed over the resignations of all seven BNP representatives to Speaker Shireen Sharmin Chowdhury in Parliament on Sunday.
Among the seven representatives, Mohd. from Thakurgaon-3. Zahidur Rahman, Bogura-4 to Mohd. 2, and Rumeen Farhana from one of the seats reserved for women.
Haroonur is currently abroad, while Abdus Sattar could not join the group in Parliament due to illness. Party whip Rumin presented his signed resignation letters instead.
The resignations of the five MPs who submitted the letter were accepted. But the other two, one of which was sent by email with a scanned signature, are currently under review.
