Bangladesh has experienced several cyclones from 2019 to 2022. Cyclones Fani, Ampan, Yas and Sitarang are notable among them.
Finally, on 24 October, Cyclone Sitarang crossed Bangladesh. Earlier, a large area of crop was damaged in Barishal, Chandpur, Kumila, Faridpur and Manikganj due to the peripheral effects of Cyclone Zawad in December, 2021.
Cyclone Yas mainly crossed the Odisha region of India. However, Bangladesh was also affected by the cyclone. Around 77 upazilas and 13 parishes in 15 districts were affected and seven people died due to cyclone Yasas.
Cyclone Ampan wreaked havoc in six districts for more than 28 hours in May, 2020. Some six people are reported to have died in the cyclone. Cyclone Bulbul hit Bangladesh in November 2019. At least two million people were affected in Bagerhat, Satkhira, Khulna, Patuakhali, Bhola, Barishal, Barguna, Pirojpur, Jhalkathy, Chandpur, Chattogram, Feni, Laxmipur and Noakhali.
