Demonstration against proposed ICC’s proposed reform

DN-cricketPeople from all walks of life were gathered at Shahbagh area of the capital yesterday. They demanded a clear stand from Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in this regard. They chanted various slogans against India, Australia and England who have proposed the draft.

Earlier Bangladeshi media reported that Bangladesh Cricket Board has decided to support the proposal. But after protest from various sections they are saying that they will not support any proposal which will bar them from playing test matches.

ICC has always been saying that they want to globalize cricket. But now India, Australia and England are arguing that they generate the lion’s share of ICC’s revenue, so they should have extra authority.

Now they are planning to omit ICC’s FTP (future tour plan) method. They want to arrange tour by bilateral discussion and only top eight nations will be eligible to play test matches. But these three nations will always enjoy the right to play test matches. These three nations will always secure their dominating role in ICC.

According to some media reports, these three countries are trying to buy small boards like Bangladesh to get the required vote in next ICC meeting.
