Dengue fever in Bangladesh: 12 patients died in 24 hours

Today, 12 dengue patients died and 2,711 patients were admitted to various hospitals in the country during the last 24 hours till 8 am on Wednesday.

“During this period, 1,130 dengue patients were admitted to hospital in Dhaka city, while 1,581 were admitted to various hospitals outside Dhaka,” said a press release from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

“There were 273 deaths due to dengue disease this year, compared to 281 last year,” said the DGHS daily statement.

With the new cases, the total number of patients rose to 57,127, the statement said, adding that “out of the total patients this year, around 47,529 patients were discharged from various hospitals.”

It added, “Around 9,325 dengue patients are undergoing treatment in various hospitals. Of them, 4,869 are in Dhaka while 4,456 are outside the capital city.”
