Mobile operator Grameenphone( the largest mobile operator in Bangladesh) on Saturday declared 35 per cent interim dividend in cash for investors based on the half-yearly performance of the company.
According to the company, it earned Tk 5,515 crore in revenues in the first nine months of 2010 which is 14 per cent higher than the revenue earned in the same period of 2009.
‘Grameenphone’s strong performance in revenue and subscription growth has been consistent over the first nine months of 2010,’ said Oddvar Hesjedal, Grameenphone chief executive officer at a press conference at Sonargaon Hotel.
According to Grameenphone about 54 lac. new subscriptions were added in 2010 reaching the total number to 2.87 crore, covering 44 per cent of the mobile market share.
The company earned a net profit of Tk 774 crores in nine months. As a result, earnings per share for the first nine months of 2010 stood at Tk 5.73 compared to Tk 5.37 for the corresponding period of the past year.
