Noting that Saima Wajed will join as WHO Regional Director for South-East Asia on February 1, the Health Minister said, “This is a big achievement for our country. She is not only the daughter of our Prime Minister, but also a known face globally for her work on autism.

Samant Lal Sen said, “Due to lack of confidence in the country’s health care, many people are going abroad for treatment. On the other hand, people are coming to Dhaka for treatment because they do not trust the treatment at the ground level. People are going abroad from Dhaka for treatment. I think people everywhere lack confidence.”
