Sources in the Bangladesh High Commission said the chief minister apprised the envoy about the opportunities and possibilities of expanding Bangladesh’s trade and commerce in the state of Meghalaya.
He highlighted the possibility of direct import of garments, plastic products, electronic products, processed food and frozen food from Bangladesh.
The Chief Minister also stressed on strengthening mutual partnership and diversification of products in the global value chain. He sought Bangladesh’s cooperation in developing and flourishing the tourism industry of Meghalaya.
Referring to Bangladesh’s historical ties with Meghalaya, the Ambassador of Bangladesh stressed on enhancing connectivity and people-to-people contact with the state.
