A firm of Chittagong Export Processing Zone (CEPZ), H U Accessories imported their goods in two containers. According to their statement these two containers were supposed to have seven hundred and ninety carton of sticker making adhesive papers. But on checking physically Chittagong port customs officials found that H U Accessories imported Malaysian made Sharp brand none hundred and twenty LED and LCD TVs, mobile phone batteries and other components in these two containers. And revenue of about 1.25 crore taka was evaded in the process. These goods are worth of about three crore taka.
JRT clearing and forwarding agent of Agrabad, Chittagong imported these goods from Singapore. These two containers were blocked on 4th gate of Chittagong port on 23th April. Custom officials have said stern action is coming against the wrongdoers.
