Actor John Abraham`s surrender plea in a rash driving case has been rejected by the Mumbai sessions court. Mr Abraham had been taken into custody after the court today agreed that he should spend 15 days in jail for rash and negligent driving, a sentence given to him by a lower court in 2010.
The court had decided that the actor should remain in custody till the plea for surrender was heard. Mr Abraham will remain in custody now. He will appeal against the decision of the sessions court in the Bombay High Court at 4pm and will also move for bail.
The actor was found guilty of rash driving after he injured two pedestrians while riding his motorbike in Mumbai`s Khar Danda area in 2006. Mr Abraham took the victims, both of whom worked in a shop together, to the Bhabha Hospital. He appealed in 2010 against his conviction. The model-turned-actor has attended all hearings in his case.
