Pakistan captain Babar Azam on Friday said that a pep talk from Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli helped him a lot at the start of his career.
Ahead of the upcoming ODI World Cup in India, the Titans will face off in the 50-over Asia Cup tournament at Pallekele on Saturday.
Both Azam and Kohli, who continue to top the ODI batting charts, have praised each other on various occasions despite the bitter rivalry between the two countries.
Asked about the comparison between the two batsmen, the 28-year-old Azam said, “I cannot comment on this debate. Let’s leave it (to the fans).”
He said, “There should be mutual respect. He is elder to me and I respect him. I have learned a lot from him.”
