Municipal Corporation's garbage truck took Mahin's life.

Mahin's friend Mohammad Maroof Ahmed reached the mortuary after hearing the news of Mahin's death. “He was a very good cyclist,” he said. He was always very happy. He kept everyone happy. He dreamed of one day becoming an expert cyclist.”

Mahin's cousin Syed Shah Alam was waiting for the body in front of the mortuary. He also talked about Mahin's dream of becoming a cyclist. He said, “Mahin could not buy a new bicycle and he used to borrow his friend's bicycle. “He wanted to be a cyclist when he grew up.”

Mahin lived with his family in a rented accommodation in Mama-Bhagina Lane, North Mugda. His father Masoom Mia used to supply buttons, thread and other such items to textile factories, but due to mounting debts he had to close his business. Now he does whatever work he can get at different times. His family was surrounded by financial problems. Mahin's mother Jotsna Akhtar is a housewife.

Mahfooz could not study beyond secondary school due to financial constraints, Mahin's cousin Shafikul Alam told Prothom Alo. The parents struggled a lot to educate their younger son Mahin and daughter Fatima.

According to Mahin's family, Mahin's mother Jotsna Akhtar was fasting on Thursday and had Iftar with Mahin in the evening. After Iftar, Mahin went out to spend the night at his cousin's house nearby and would return in the morning. On the way to Madinabagh, Mugda, a Municipal Corporation garbage truck carelessly came from the wrong side of the road and crushed Mahin under its wheels. Mahin, drenched in blood, was first taken to Mugda Medical College Hospital. When his condition worsened, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. He died during treatment there at around 11:00 pm.
