From now on, no service will be available for citizens without wearing face masks. This will apply to both public and private offices. This strict measure was declared after a virtual cabinet meeting where the prime minister and other ministers joined through video conferencing. Government officials will monitor whether public and private offices are following the ‘no mask no service policy’.
While talking to media after the meeting, the cabinet secretary informed that the government has already given massive instructions to all concerned sections to handle the winter situation. Because western nations are facing a second wave of Covid-19 pandemic and Bangladesh is at the risk of facing a similar situation in winter.
Citizens must wear face masks in public transports, markets, shopping malls, educational institutes, social and religious gatherings. Public and private offices must show poster asking people to wears face masks. Islamic Foundation will also work to raise awareness. Mosques will ask people to wear masks at least twice a day. The cabinet secretary also said we are much better prepared than last March. Doctors, nurses, and other health caregivers are not panicked.
Experts have long been expressing their concern that many people are not using mace masks which is increasing the risk of spreading the disease. They have been calling for a mandatory face mask rule.
