Pass rate in SSC, equivalent exams falls from peak to 87.44%

The pass rate for the Secondary School Certificate and equivalent examinations fell to 87.44 per cent from a record high of 93.58 per cent last year.

Of test-takers, 269,602, or 15.46 percent of those who passed, achieved a GPA of 5.0.

The pass rate declined by 6.14 percentage points from the previous year, but the number of GPA 5.0 recipients increased from 183,340 to 86,262.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was handed over the overall summary and statistics for the 2022 examinations by Education Minister Dipu Moni at the Prime Minister’s Office on Monday.

Later, the chairpersons of various education boards presented the premier with a more detailed account of the results of their respective divisions.

Later in the day, the Education Minister presented glimpses of the test results at a media briefing at the International Mother Tongue Institute in Dhaka.
