Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday said Muslim countries can introduce a common currency like the European Union (EU) to boost trade and commerce among themselves, when a delegation of D-8 trade ministers met her.
He said, “It would be great if we, the Muslim countries, could introduce a common currency like the European Union to facilitate trade and commerce between us.”
The Prime Minister's speechwriter Mohammad Nazrul Islam briefed journalists after the call by the D-8 trade ministers' delegation led by Turkish Deputy Trade Minister Mustafa Tizku at Gana Bhavan, the Prime Minister's official residence.
