Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate an international-standard school in Sreepur upazila on Sunday afternoon. School authorities said ‘Plays Harbor School and Sports Academy’ has been built on 25 acres of land in Singradighi area of Sreepur. “The English-medium school will also have facilities of sports education with advanced technologies,” said one of the sponsors. Chairman of the school Saidul Alam Titu said they would enroll 400 students for class III to VIII in the first phase. About 50 teachers will teach all subjects, including Bengali, History and Religious Studies. A total of 18 foreign teachers, including from Europe, America and England, along with 25 local teachers will teach the school students. “The school, which will be a full-fledged residential one, will follow the syllabus of Cambridge University (standard),” he added. Guardians have been requested to collect admission forms from its temporary office at Chilies Restaurant in Dhanmondi. The school will begin its academic activities, including classes, on January 9 in 2012. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will join a rally at Maona Multipurpose High School ground after inaugurating the school, the sources said.
