The Prime Minister said the biobank will promote innovations and discoveries in medicine and other branches of life science subjects. “This could lead to significant improvements in the ability to diagnose, prevent and provide personalized care.”
The Prime Minister said Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, the top postgraduate medical institution in Bangladesh with a 2650-bed hospital, eight faculties, 68 departments and about 500 faculty members, has the capacity to host such facilities.
He said contributing to this biobank is not just a financial option, it is a humanitarian act, a symbol of hope for a world where everyone has access to quality health care.
“I emphasize that your contribution is much more than mere numerical values. It symbolizes preservation of life, protection of family and empowerment of the nation, which in turn will contribute to the overall research capacity at the regional level.”
