Dhaka University teacher Rumana Manjur asked people to pray for her, as she is undergoing an operation in Vancouver General Hospital in Canada today. Ophthalmologists are optimistic that she may get back eyesight slightly.
If the operation is successful she will not get full eyesight. She will not be able to read. But she may feel presence of any thing or blur of anything in front of her.
Earlier she tried in two Indian hospitals, but they failed to say something positive and asked her to go back after one month.
She was brutally tortured by her husband Syeed Hasan Sumon last month.
Before going to Canada she signed a divorce letter and applied for guardianship of her daughter.
