The country is moving towards one-party rule: Taimur Alam’s election insights

Taimur Alam Khandekar, MP candidate from Narayanganj-1 constituency in the 12th general election and general secretary of Trinomul BNP, popularly known as Raja’s Party, on Wednesday alleged that there was fraud in the recently concluded 12th parliamentary election.

“We will no longer participate in such phased elections. The government contested the elections against the government. Both the boat symbol candidate and the independent candidate were from the ruling party. The government seems to be moving towards one-party rule,” he lamented.

Taimul Alam Khandekar, former leader of the main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party, was speaking to reporters at the office of the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Narayanganj in the afternoon.

He had gone there to lodge a written complaint about the attack on the house of one of his female supporters.
