A Dhaka court has sentenced 49 leaders and workers of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), including joint general secretary Habibun Nabi Khan Sohail, Information Affairs Secretary Azizul Bari Helal, Voluntary Affairs Secretary Mir Sarafat Ali and former Jubo Dal president Saiful Islam Nirob is included.
Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court magistrates Attaullah and Mohammad Sheikh Saadi announced the verdict today, Monday. He has been sentenced in four different cases.
With this, 265 BNP leaders and workers have been sentenced in a total of 21 cases in the last two months.
With this, the number of BNP workers punished in the last one year has increased to 299.
