The Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB), an organization of entrepreneurs and directors of private banks, said in a statement that at present there is no cash crunch in banks.
In a statement issued on Monday, BAB said that there is a negative campaign going on in the banking sector regarding the lack of cash. But this is not true; Liquidity in banks is stable.
The notification was signed by Nazrul Islam Majumdar, Chairman of BAB and Exim Bank.
He said that at present the liquidity balance in the banking sector is Tk 1.70 lakh crore, which is more than the requirement. The BAB issued the statement after discussing the current situation in the banking sector in a meeting.
