A mild earthquake rocks the capital and other parts of the country yesterday afternoon. Such incident occurred for the third time this month causing panic among people.
Two other earthquakes caused tremor in the capital and some other parts of the country on February 10 and February 4. The quakes were at three different faults at Bangladesh-India and Bangladesh-Myanmar borders.
The meteorological department said that the tremor was measured 4.3 on the Richter scale and started at 4:25pm and lasted about 15 seconds. Its epicentre was 96km southeast of the capital, somewhere near the Comilla-Tripura border.
The tremor was also felt in the Sylhet region including Habiganj, Moulvibazar and Sunamganj.
No casualty or loss of property was reported.
